I know this is my third baby and I should be fine with the labor and delivery, but I am really scared. I had an epidural with both of my girls, but it did not work well with my 2nd child and now that even scares me because I don't want them to do something wrong and hurt me. I just don't know if I should try another epidural or push myself through it without an epidural. I'm also scared of having a c-section because my 1st baby was too big and her shoulder got stuck, so I had to be careful with my 2nd baby, so far I have made it through with no c-sections. This one has me a little spooked because I think boys are usually bigger than girls. Am I the only one that is scared?

I think it's pretty normal to be scared no matter how many kids you have. I've had two and was nervous both times. Every labor and delivery is different so you just don't know what to expect. I'm sure you'll do just fine. When are you due?

I'm due July 7th. It's funny I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant and then I went into what was I thinking? I'll be fine once the birth is over. LOL That's the only part that has me scared, I haven't been too worried about raising 3 kids or going to school, it's just been the labor and delivery part that has me scared. rolling_smile.gif

On my 3rd one the labor and delivery terrified me but I had had 2 C-Sections and my third was natural. I had an epideral but the whole thing was soooo scary. The dr said I could have another C-Section or try vaginally. I chose the latter because this was my last baby so I wanted to say that I at least tried it. Once it was over I was glad I did it (During was a little rough, tongue.gif up until the epideral)

I am sure you will do great! biggrin.gif

With my second pg I wasn't nervous at all, I guess because my first one was so easy....I loved the demerol and the epi worked like a charm laugh.gif So I was in for a really big suprise when the epi didn't work at all the second time around, but even still it wasn't bad at all (in hindsight, LOL) and if I were to have any more I'd probably forget the epi and just go for it naturally in light of what happened last time.

I think it's normal though, because like Mandy said, every delivery is so different and you can't forsee all the possible outcomes wacko.gif

I'm a lover of epidurals!!! I joke that I will get this one started at 37 weeks just to be on the safe side. I'd try the epidural - if it doesn't work then you are no worse off than you would be if you don't get one - ya know?

I think its normal to be a little scared no matter how many times you have done it. I was scared with my second one more than I was with the first one. Suprisingly. I dont know why but I was. Good luck to you I am sure you will do just fine.
