I am just curious when everyone has started to give their babies "puffs" and crackers.. My little boy is 6 1/2 months and I have heard it is okay at this age, but I would like to hear the opinion of other mothers:) Thanks!!

Definitely wait until 8 or 9 months - I don't think the Dr. would want you giving solid food like that at 6.5 months. JMO

I gave Tripp and Katie the puffs at about 7 months. Just make sure you give him only one at the time and that you watch him closely.

I gave Ryan puffs when he was around 7 months old. Just be sure to watch your baby with them and offer one at a time.
I also wanted to add you can also break them in half when giving them to him for the first time.

Aiden started with them around 6 months. He had the pincer (sp?) grasp (using the two fingers) pretty early and was just ready. He also knew how to chew with his gums by then. It really all depends on how well your baby can chew and grasp. Some babies do, some don't.

I agree with Jennie - once they have that pincer grasp down and can chew, I think it is fine. Some babies do it earlier than others, so I really don't think there is a set age. I started solids with Wil at about 8 months though and Wesley was on BM exclusively for almost 12 months, so like I said, every kid is different.

ditto - Carly was a early eater. She started getting solids at 6.5 months but she knew how to chew. Just go slow and follow your instincts - if you think he is ready, then try it!
