yeah it was not fun yesterday afternoon we went fishing and my foot and toes started swelling to about half its size and turned blue and then I almost passed out on the boat literally I don't know how I didn't fall on my face in the water I barely made it to sit down REALLY freaky!!!! ohmy.gif And then I get home and we analize and analize and then I got this SHARPE stinging feeling in my leg and then we made a trp to our emergency room and I had a grrrrr butthole of a doctor... foreign dude that could barely understand what I was saying and vice versa that talked to me like I was stupid and when he finally saw my foot swell back up he sent me out of town to a better hospital he said literally "we small hospital no money" grrr okay dude so they called the other emergency room and we waited for hour and half and they finally took me back and told me I had to stay the night because there was no one there either so me and my mom (she drove us) and my best friend (jeremiah stayed home with lissa he was very tired and someone needed to stay with her) so curled up on the bed in the observation room and slept for about two hours before they took me to get an ultrasound on my legs... anyway turned out I had a blood clot but luckily it broke up before I had the ultrasound and the doctor said it could have been anything but more than likely it was a blood clot because I had all the right symtoms.. anyway thanks for reading this if you got this far blush.gif

and I have to say I have some awesome family my best friend and mom took care of me and my husband was a great supporter and made me feel better and my SIL has volunteered to take care of alyssa today so I can rest!!! love2.gif love2.gif

edited: I had to change a word wink.gif oh yes please excuse my grammer lack of sleep!!!!

Yikes, a blood clot- not something to be ignored. Glad you finally got the proper attention. Take care of it. hug.gif

Do you have a family doctor? I would folllow up with them and see what could have caused it and what you should do to prevent it in the future. That's scarey!!

I can't believe the hospitals there! dry.gif

ITA with the others. Errant blood clots are not normal and can be dangerous... I would follow up with at least your primary care doc, if I had my preference I would see a specialist.

I would definately follow up with your doctor. Blood clots can be very dangerous. Also I am sure you know but if you are taking oral contraceptives I would recommend stopping it since they raise the risk of blood clots.

I have been off of them for 2 or 3 months I just quit I didn't even finish the last pack because I was SOOO harmonal and tired but my best friends mother is a nurse and she said it could have been from quitting or just from the bc also i hit my toe the other day to the point where I almost broke it (j swore up and down it was broke until I grabbed it and felt the bone rolleyes.gif ) anyway now that ya'll say that I think I will call my doc monday just to be on the safe side.. no one at the hospital said anything about that except it could have been caused from something as little as sitting wrong and something about cutting off a nerve and blood flowing back or something like that.. dunno.gif

oh and they didn't diagnose it he just said it probably was but he doesn't know because nothing showed up abnormal on the u/s and he said if it happened again that they would do more testing. SO basicly I just have to keep an eye on it and "take it easy" *sigh* I think I will call the hospital and ask them if I NEED to follow up with my family doctor
