I don't have many clothes that fit me well, other than my daily stuff... so I could use a little help here.

I have a suit that can be worn a couple ways. I have a black top that is sleeveless, and has some ruffles on one shoulder. That top is part of the suit that has 1) a long black skirt cut on an angle, with same ruffles along the edge or 2) pants layered with some more fabric making them look like a double layered long skirt. I also have a capelet that goies with the suit... so it can be worn either way.

The material is kinda thin though... it's probably more of a summer suit than one that can be worn in this temp... I don't know. I think it's too thin, but anyways...

Alternatively, I have a black velvet suit - pants, and a long jacket. I can wear a red silk shirt with it, it looks nice. The pants and jacket sleeves have some embroidery on it, vine looking embroidery...

As for shoes, I have brown suede knee-high boots, patin leather black shoes with a 1/2 inch wooden platform and a wooden 4 inch heel, I have regular black slingback heels, not patin but still shiny, and I have matte black slingbacks. I have access to like 70 other pairs though, my mom is a shoe freak, and still matches her purses and shoes. rolleyes.gif I'm not a purse wearer though, and the only purse I have that can pass for evening is black and wood with a gold chain as a strap. But again, since my mom is a freak, she also has like 35 purses. rolling_smile.gif

I probably have a few more pieces of clothing I can throw together to make it look nice... I do have one other gown type dress, but I wore it the last time I saw these people, so I don't want to wera it again. tongue.gif

I think I like the sound of the velvet suit best. Do you have a slinkier top for underneath? You said you had a red shirt? Is it a full shirt or a tank? If you have something lightweight, a bustier or other slinky top I think it would be a good contrast against the heavier velvet.

As for shoes, matte heels of some sort and they don't need to match your purse.

I like this idea.

Brenda, I don't really have any nice slinky tops, but I do have a few that might work. They're mostly animal print though... emlaugh.gif

I'll have to check... the last of the kids is almost asleep, so I'll go and take pictures if my cam cooperates... biggrin.gif
