OK so being preggers in the winter sucks in that I can't go to the tanning bed. I don't really go a whole lot, because I don't want that leathery look BUT...I do try and go a couple of times a month to keep up somewhat of a color, beacuse I get PALE! blush.gif I am so pale now you can start to see veins, especially with the growing belly and the BB's getting bigger due to the big belly laugh.gif So, I was looking into facials and pregnancy massages the other day at the spa I go to and they have this special body exfoliation process, they exfoliate all your dead skin with all of these wraps and special sea salt deals (you know they make it sound all fancy laugh.gif ) and then they have a specialist come in and do a self-tanning lotion deal all over your body making sure it goes on even and that the color is right for your skin tone etc... It sounded wonderful, it would be awesome for me right now but it was pretty expensive, I think it was like $60-70 something, I can't remember the exact price. So I'm wondering has anyone every had anything like this done...if so did it last a while? I've went to those spray tan things before (when I was preggo with Hanna) and that crap cost me $40, it sprayed the tan on in like less than 30 seconds and at first it looked ok,l a bit too orange but when it started to come off it looked awful not to mention, it was coming off like 3 days later, which really ticked me off, it was supposed to last 2-3 weeks. mad.gif It also made the spots between my fingers and toes look weird and the knuckles looked extra orange, at least with this I'd have someone rubbing it on every inch of my body, rubbing it in evenly..what do you guys think?

LeaAnn, I've done a botanic scrub before where they rub you down with warm oil and dried botanicals (flowers and herbs), then wrapped me in hot towels. It was great! But I wouldn't recommend it while PG. You shouldn't do anything that elevates your body temperate that much. I would just do an exfoliation at home and then go get sprayed. But just be sure and cover your face. Again, I don't think it's a good idea to breathe in that stuff while PG. JMHO.

As far as the tanners, I've only done the Mist kind once where you stand in the booth. I got really orange and hated the smell in two days or so. My sister has done the one where someone sprays you like with an airbrush and she loves it!

BTW, I don't think that's too bad of a price for the procedure. Is it 60 minutes long? You deserve to be pampered! But be sure and check with your doctor first!

IMHO those tans don't last any longer than what you do yourself with self tanner, the rest of it sounds awesome though! thumb.gif

btw-I went to a natural hot springs spa when I was pg, the doctor said it was ok in short increments and said my own judgement would be enough to keep me from getting too hot.

it wont last long, like the spray on you had your suppose to do 2-3 times for it to last 2-3 weeks. IMO have hubby rub you all over with the jergens natural glow lotion. Just 2-3 times will give you a natural glow. and then you only need to apply about once a week to maintain. Best part you get time with DH and oh so much cheeper. Just make sure to tell him to wash his hands after or they will turn a funny color.
