OK, so here's the deal... Waylon has been having early morning BMs lately. I mean early as in, I think it's what wakes him up in the morning.
And it is GROSS!!! Everywhere in his pajamas, all over his back, legs, stomach, just nasty nasty stuff. Everyday I have to wash his pjs from the night before, and getting him cleaned up is a nightmare! The crazy part is that it isn't just coming out of his diaper, it's filling the diaper up and then running over!

So, now that you're thoroughly disgusted, how do I fix this? This is usually the only BM he has each day, like he's saving it all up. I don't know whether to try even larger diapers for night time, or put him on paper pjs... I know I'm tired of this though. laugh.gif

Any suggestions PLEASE?????

When you say bigger, how much bigger? He wears a 5 now, just as of last week. They are taller than the 4's, but still wrap around so that the tabs touch in the front.
Thanks!

I don't know. If they are that big, maybe they are to big? and not fitting snuggly enough around the waist to keep the poo in?

One thing I had to do with ben when he got bigger was to add a maxi pad liner around the waist, but I did that to keep the pee in, because he kept leaking no matter what I did. I would just stick it to the top edge so it wrapped around his belly, then put the diaper on like normal. It totally worked. Maybe you could try doing that along the back of the diaper?

Maybe I will try the doubling up thing tonight. I just wish he'd space his poops out through the day... at least do it twice so it wouldn't be so much at once! puke.gif
If that doesn't work we'll try the pad thing, too. Surely something can corral this mess!

This used to happen with my son. I've put him in Huggies Overnight diapers. They are thicker and come up a little higher in the back. I've had much more success in stuff staying inside the diaper.

Well, I'm not sure what foods to give/not give to help with timing it. He eats fairly healthy all day... whole-grain crackers/cereals, cereal bars, raisins, just about any kind of meat or veggie. He drinks milk, water, and juice with water through the day.
Maybe I could give a little dose of straight juice early in the afternoon...

thats what I do with my kids, they never have straight juice, so when they are constipated just one glass of juice usually does it.
maybe some snacks later in the day like cheese, and bananas?
I wish I could get my kids to eat as healthy as yours do!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't bananas constipate?

Did you try to double up - what happened?

Also you could do a diaper and maybe a pull up over top?

I personally think it sounds like he eats fine and wouldn't force food in him, but just let him eat how much he wants
