Two peas in a pod! Group: Members Posts: 6,563 Member No.: 3,766 Joined: 23-May 06 |
Before I leave for work in the afternoons I generally have dinner prepared for Troy and the boys. It's not cooked, but it's prepared so all he has to do is throw it in the oven or do a minimal amount of cooking. I know, I'm the best wife ever.
Anyways, I am looking for ideas. Things that don't take too long to prepare and things that would be easy to throw in the frig until it gets cooked later. I'm tired of throwing chicken or beef in a pan and dousing it with random sauce (although some of them have been pretty tasty ). I am a wizard at the crock pot as well, so crock pot recipes are welcome as well! Ideas? I'm in a slump and need some new recipes. -------------------- Jennie: mommy to two handsome little men, a crazy husband (TheOaf66), and two cats.

Don't know how you guys feel about this, but it was a hit with my family. We made fajita salad - DH bought that pre-cooked, sliced chicken that was already flavored with fajita seasonings. We then just cooked up some black beans and corn and put it all on top of a bed of lettuce. The black bean sauce was enough - no dressing needed in my opinion.
The kids don't "love" lettuce, so for them we just gave them some tortillas and they made little fajitas out of them. We're all about easy and pre-cooked at our house -------------------- The Administrators of the Parenting Club take violators of the Terms of Service Agreement seriously. Meatloaf would be something you could throw together and leave in the fridge until it is time to cook. And, there's usually enough for two meals too.

Ham and scallop potatoes could be made and then kept in the fridge.. just make milk covers all the potatos or they will go dark.
