we heard back on some of the tests that Jake had done due to having the leg pains. He has been having them for a while now, and the ped told us that she felt all this time that they were just growing pains..however, the pains are progressing and are more intense. Also she said that growing pains occur in the long bones, while Jakes pain seems to be in the feet.
Jakes labs indicate that he might have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. he is seeing a specialist as soon as he can get an appt. I really am hoping for a positive ending to this, as you all know Jake has really been thru enough. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

Oh my goodness Stacy, I'm sorry to hear this! That poor boy just can't catch a break can he. I hope you hear something hopeful when you see the specialist. I don't know anything about RA in children but I hope it can be treated!

does anyone know a child with RA?
He has been doing better the last two days...we have really been massaging his feet and also giving him two bananas a day.. his labs were good except the ANA which was high.. all his vitamins were normal and his iron.. I was worried about that due to his restricted diet. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew
