well as expected we finally ended up in the ER last night. Andrews fevers were high and he was just crying so hard, we couldnt do anything to make him feel better.
after a while they finally diagnosised him not with strep, as we thought, since the entire house has it, but with herpes angina...she said its just the same as cold sores but in the back of the throat and extremely painful. I havent been able to google anything on line about it. they gave us some "magic mouthwash" which is something the dr's made up, on mixture of benedryl and malox and lidocaine. We have to gag him and swab it on with a q tip in the way back of his throat, it numbs him for about 10-15 mns so he can drink a bottle. he was completely dehydrated and had to get IV's. we are home now, but man what a night. the pain is still really bad for him. we see the dr again tomorrow. and today we are pretty sure Jakob has it now. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

That is absolutely the most miserable thing to experience. I feel so bad for him and I'm sorry to hear he is in so much pain. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for him and that everyone in your house stays healthy. Christmas is an awful time to not feel well.

It sounds similar to hand, foot, and mouth disease. Eek. I hope he is ok.
