Is it wrong to mix the two? We did this when I went back to work and I didn't have enough on hand. We just used like 2/3 BM and 1/3 formula. A couple ladies I have spoken two, lately, has told me this is a huge no no. I spoke with LCs in the past and was never told not to do it? Anyone know the rule.

Any thoughts or advice on this. I checked kellymom but I didn't find anything.

I've done it with no ill effects. As to whether you're "supposed" to or not, I don't know. I have never been able to come up with a reason as to why not.

I did it, I was told to by someone, either my Dr or my LC because Ally wouldn't take straight formula, so I had to wean her onto it.

I've done that and I read it in a book or magazine which gave me the idea to do it. I never saw a problem with it. What was their reasoning for it being a big no-no?

I think I did it, I had bm I didn't want to waste and we didn't have any problems. I'm also curious as to why not?

They said when you mix the two it breaks down the nurtients. I didn't quite understand how this was possible though. The only way I could get Annika to take the formula was mixing the two in the beginning. Maybe someone gave them bad info or something. I don't know. Annika never had ill effects from it and she gained well. dunno.gif Just was wondering if anyone else heard this also.

I read that when mixing the enzymes in the bm will help baby digest the formula easier. Now that I think about it I think it was the health dept that told me that. Anyways the important thing is that she is fed, health, and happy. wub.gif
