I'm thinking about giving it a shot starting tomorrow. It's a cleansing diet that is basically a breakdown of chemicals. (After five days in FL drinking fruity margaritas and eating junk, I could use a "cleanse" laugh.gif ) I'm nervous about the "fad diet" type thing, but this one seems reasonable, and its only for three days. What's more, is that it doesn't seem to cut out any major food groups, just restricts your intake/what you eat in particular for a few days. It's supposed to be followed by moderate eating and exercise in order to be effective, and they say it is safe to follow once a week.

Anyone have experience trying it out? Opinions?

Here it is, for those not familiar.

Day 1:

Breakfast: Black coffee or tea, 1/2 grapefruit, 1 slice of toast, 2 T peanut butter
Lunch: 1/2 cup tuna, 1 slice of toast, coffee or tea
Dinner: 3 oz of any type of meat, 1 c string beans, 1 c beets, 1 apple, 1 c vanilla ice cream

Day 2:

Breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 banana, coffee or tea
Lunch: 1 c cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers
Dinner: 2 hot dogs, 1 c broccoli, 1/2 c carrots

Day 3:

Breakfast: 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 apple, coffee or tea
Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice of toast
Dinner: 1 c tuna, 1 c beets, 1 c cauliflower, 1/2 c vanilla ice cream

I would starve on that - cottage cheese and crackers is a snack for me, not a lunch. emlaugh.gif

For the most part it looks good to me, except personally I would be VERY wary of any diet that tells you to eat hot dogs. There is really no nutritional value to hot dogs at all.

I was thinking the same- not to mention, your cholesterol and fat intake would go through the roof if you kept up with it.

Well, no worries here people. I barely made it through lunch on this. I think I'm just going to have to up my exercise. Why, oh, why can't weight come off easier for me!!

My mom tried something similiar to this for quite sometime, it was actually a plan given to her from her doctor. The only thing that truly concerns me is the hotdogs, I'm a little surprised by that.
