SO ... Isabella is sleeping and I am not tired, we got good sleep earlier today so here goes!
We went in to be induced on Tuesday (8/8/06) around 7 that morning. They started the IV, Antibiotics <(Im group B +), and Pitocin around 8:15, they then broke my water around 8:45.
It didn't take long before I was feeling the pain from the contractions. I went in knowing I WAS GETTING AND EPI. LOL, I asked for it around 10:30, thinking it would take them awhile to get it for me, boy was I wrong ... lol about 10:45 I got the epi, and it was a great day from then on. At that point I was only 2cm dialated so, naturally the epi slowed down the labor a little.
The doc came in and checked me at 6:30p.m. I was 5cm, fast forward to 7:00, I was starting to get uncomfortable, feeling A LOT more pressure with the contractions and I was getting cranky ... haha! The doctor came in at 8 to check me and said, I can't feel the cervix so that means, 100% YAY! THe next contraction I pushed and got her head down...
1 more push and she was crowning, they ran out to get the doctor because, I NEEDED TO PUSH.
2 pushes later ( those pushes were sets of 3) and we had our little girl.
All in all it was a WONDERFUL experience, it was all worth everything I went thru in my pregnancy. I can't get enough of the little girl.
She is SUPER TINY though, which made her have to be taken care of in the Level 2 nursery . However she did GREAT thru the first 24 hours just slight breathing problems and we got to come home earlier than expected. They said we wouldn't be home until friday but we came home yesterday.
She doesn't fit into ANY of her clothes, they swallow her, and the diapers ARE HUGE. LOL, We got some preemie diapers and a FEW preemie outfits that fit her. The preemie diapers are a little big but the outfits fit great. She went to the doctor today to get her weight and what not checked and she is GREAT.
Breastfeeding is going GREAT, getting better each day. The first night was rather difficult . The next morning I spoke with the hospitals LC and things have been AWESOME ever since. My milk came in this morning, and THAT WAS WEIRD lol ... but she is eating GREAT and hopefully gaining some more weight, she was 6lbs 10 oz. at the doctor this afternoon and we go back on the 30th if no problems arise.
If you got this far THANKS... I will post more pictures soon. We are all just trying to get used to life as a family of 3 rather than a family of Jess and Sal! |
