I am due April 25th. It is getting pretty nerve racking knowing that any time I could go into labor. This is our first.

Posted by: MommyToAshley Apr 13 2003, 04:01 PM
Wow dolfinrse...it won't be long at all for you! Are you having any contractions yet? There was a couple of times that we thought we were going to have to go to the hospital but then the contractions just stopped. I know what you mean about it being nerve racking ... I was a nervous wreck! baby.gif

Posted by: dolfinrse Apr 13 2003, 04:17 PM
I haven't had any strong contractions the last few days, but last week for about 3-4 days straight I would have them for hours on end, but they wouldn't get close enough together for me to call the dr. I was told not to call until they are 5 min. apart. The baby dropped about one month ago, so know one thought I would even make it this far. Every night I have trouble sleeping because I lay in bed thinking "Is tonight the night", "Am I going to get woken up with contractions or with a puddle in between my legs", but nothing yet.

You must be getting real excited, Good Luck with everything and I hope that the little one comes real soon. baby.gif

Thanks. I'm excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. My MIL told me that I will go in labor on Wednesday because of the full moon, we shall see. I hope he comes out soon too. My hips hurt and my feet are swollen, plus we can't wait to see who he looks like.

Posted by: MommyToAshley Apr 14 2003, 08:08 AM
I read that about the full moon too! I asked at the hospital and they said, it is true that they are busier during a full moon and thunderstorms. I guess it has something to do with the atmospheric pressure that puts women in labor! I'm sending you some quick and easy labor vibes -- just in case! smile.gif You might have the first baby born since we started this board. smile.gif

Thanks....I loved being pregnant, but I'm at the point now where I just want it to be over with. My hips hurt when I walk, I have trouble sleeping at night. I know it will all be worth it though. soon.gif

Well, the full moon didn't work last night. I'm still pregnant. At least we go to the dr. tonight for my 39 week appointment, hopefully he will have some good news for me. tongue.gif

I just got back from my dr. appointment. According to him, I am not dilated and not even soft. We will wait and see what happens by next week. If I have no change by next Friday, my due date, he said we will discuss induction or c-section. He has to watch how big the baby gets because 3 weeks ago, the baby was 7lb. 3 oz. according to u/s, so if I go until next week he will be almost 9 lbs. The dr. told me that they don't like the baby to get over 9lbs. Hopefully nature will take it's course this week. baby.gif

Sending you some quick and easy labor vibes!!! ~~~~~~~~

When's the next Thunderstorm?? heheh wink.gif

Posted by: dolfinrse Apr 17 2003, 07:07 PM
Thanks. I hope it comes on naturally in the next week. I don't want to be induced, and I sure as heck don't want a c-section unless I have to.

Actually, we are having a storm right now and supposed to for the next few days. Maybe we'll have an Easter baby. baby.gif

My advice. Go to bed...NOW! I had no pre-labor signs, wasn't due for until 9-4 so i stayed up late watching a movie with DH on 9-1. We went to bed at 1:30am, my water broke at 4:30am (and I made it to the bathroom without getting a drop on the bed or carpet!) and after 12 hours of labor with no drugs an exhausted mommy finally had her prize! I STILL haven't gotten caught up on my sleep! LOL
Really, stop reading this now and go to bed! rolling_smile.gif

Easy labor vibes coming your way!

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumb.gif

Thanks for the labor vibes. Ever since we got home from the dr. last night, there have been chunks of mucous coming out. There is no blood, so I'm not sure if it is my mucous plug or not. I am driving poor dh crazy wacko.gif , everytime something weird happens he is the one that has to listen to me. I really hope that labor comes on it's own. I've had several people induced labor is a lot harder than natural labor.

I didn't have any blood with my mucous plug so that very well could be what it is. And don't worry about driving DH crazy-that's what he's there for. tongue.gif

More easy and early labor vibes coming your way!!

I did the same thing to my DH. We have to go through everything else so it is only fair we get to drive them nuts!

It sounds like it could be your mucus plug.. I heard that can come out and we don't even notice it too.

As for induced labor, I have only been induced and I can tell you that it was not easy...but I have nothing to compare it to... all labor may be that way! But, well worth it!!

Try to get some rest!!

Posted by: dolfinrse Apr 18 2003, 11:38 AM
I've been trying to rest and take it easy, but I have my mil, my mom, my dad, my brother, and all the great grandparents to be calling me everyday to see if there is anything going on. They are making me crazy. DH laughs because half the time I only answer the phone when I see that it is him calling. They are making him crazy too, but I try to understand that everyone is on edge waiting for this baby to pop.

Posted by: MommyToAshley Apr 18 2003, 12:08 PM
I completely understand. I kept getting asked, "didn't you have that baby yet?" HELLO...don't you think I would tell you and that my belly would be a little smaller and I would have a baby attached to my boob every hour (hahah). rolling_smile.gif

BUt, it was nice to know that they were anxiously awaiting Ashley's arrival. It's better than not having anyone care. wub.gif

Oh it is nice to know that everyone is excited too, but they are making us more on edge than I think we would be otherwise. We tried telling them that we would call as soon as something happens, but they didn't seem to work because they still call 500 times a day. rolleyes.gif

I think I would just do what you have been and put on caller ID, turn your ringer down or off and get some rest!

Well, Zach's Mom - I would say you had some good luck!!!

I've not been here since the very beginning of this board, but isn't Zach's Mom's PG announcement the first one made since the board has gone up??

Just curious.....if so, it's a "first"

Posted by: MommyToAshley Apr 23 2003, 08:34 AM
Yes, I do believe it is the first! Congrats again! smile.gif
