Im amazed at how many people I know who are/have been pregnant think that there water has to break to go into labor. Ive had to explain to 2 different people recently within a couple weeks of there due date that thats not always how it goes.

I know I dont get these people!. the 1 was almost 30 and didnt know. I asked her when she was going to go to the hospital and she said ' when my water breaks' I told her that may be to late and she was like ' but thats how labor starts'

my other friend I told yesterday before I posted this and she ended up going into labor last night around midnight..and guess what? her water didnt break haha.

I was induced with Nathan and they broke my water to try and get labour to start on its own... it didn't so they started pitocin.

My water broke on it's own with Tyler... 2 1/2 hours later he was born.

I was surpried by MANY people who didn't have a clue about due dates.. they think they had a "period" when they got pregnant but it wasn't they got pregnant on or about two weeks later and thats just a way that doctors date a pregnancy. My sister in laws water did break when she went into labor contractions didn't really start until about 3 hours later=

With Anika I was having contractions for about 6 hours before the doc came and broke my water. With Riley my water broke and contractions started to get noticeably uncomfortable about 3 hours after that.

I was in labor a full 24 hours before they broke my water at the hospital at I believe 4cm. Then I only made it to 6cm 12 hours after that before I had an emergency C-Section.

LOL. My dad is the same way. He has five kids so you think he would know this by now. Mine didn't break when I had ds. They broke it for me.

It's amazing isn't it? Women have been having kids for how long? LOL I have known two people to pass their bag of water and shortly followed by baby. My water broke at 345 am and Annika was born at 945 am. I started laboring at 10 the morning before though. emlaugh.gif
