We've always gotten our diatomaceous earth (DE) from Ryan's mom, but only in small quantities. I need a larger quantity now and wondering if online is the way to go. I believe my MIL gets hers through the co-op and I'm not part of it at this moment so I probably can't get it there. If you do buy it online, where?

Is that for a swimming pool, Karen? If so, we buy online. Just got a big box yesterday, as a matter of fact.

Not that I'm aware of. happy.gif We use it on our garden to keep insects, etc, away and we are going to attempt to buy a puffer and cover our whole back yard with it to get rid of ticks, spiders, etc.

I had no idea there was another use for it. I think I'll pass this info onto dh--thanks for the accidental tip! rolling_smile.gif

laugh.gif So you can use it for the pool too? I'm curious.....tell me more. We use chlorine tablets in our filter right now but someone told me the other day of a safer chemical-free way to do it but I forgot the name of what they said.

BTW, that stuff will kill ants, ticks, fleas, bed bugs, slugs, beetles, and I've heard spiders but haven't found documentation on that last one.

I didn't know that either, I've definitely got to check it out knowing that! thumb.gif

If you are interested, my sitter sent me an email from a lady to wrote to her about it and how she's used it on everything from horses to the lawn and how she does it. I can pm it to you, just let me know.

I never knew there were more uses for it either. We've just always used it in our garden and that's it, but we'll definitely use it for other uses now. My sitter uses it on her 8+ (sometimes has more, she's a breeder, lol) dogs and the yard and has never had a tick problem in years since using DE.
