Megan is getting retested on Monday for her food allergies. It's been 2.5 years since her first test. I was so confident that she has grown out of them, but recent events are making me feel otherwise sad.gif I really really hate putting her through the horrible testing, but I was hoping she'd grown out of them, so she didn't have to worry about it anymore. So she didn't have to come home sad that other kids had treats she couldn't have sad.gif

Please think positive thoughts for her, please. Thanks!

Chocolate, sesame seed, cottonseed, and yellow dye. Do you know how hard it is to find cheese w/o yellow dye and that isn't OUTRAGEOUSLY priced?! Luckily one grocery store in town carries white American cheese, but they always seem to be out sad.gif Then you can't get white american shredded cheese so we have to buy in block and shred it ourselves. wacko.gif Chocolate and yellow dye are our BIG ones to be a PITA. I really thought she grew out of them, because we'd let her have those things in moderation and she didn't have any complaints for a LONG time, but then all of a sudden the last week or two she's been complaining about her tummy like she used to before we took them out of her diet. bawling.gif

Positive thoughts and prayers said... hopefully she has outgrown at least some of them. Chocolate would be hard. If she's outgrown anything, I am hoping for that one.

Keep us posted!

Karen, I so know how you feel! I hope Megan is done with these allergies.
We just called to have Jakob retested with peanut and egg. We are doing a food challange and it scares me.

These food allergies never seem serious until you have a child with them.
Keep us posted!

Hugs for both of you. I can't imagine how scary it is to have a child with food allergies, especially if they are life threatening.

Thanks everyone for your p's & pt's. We are very fortunate that Megan's allergies are not life threatening. I feel for all of you who have children with life threatening allergies. I think all kids with any kind of allergy has the issue of feeling "normal", though. I know Megan does. She wants to be "normal" so bad, no matter how many times I try to make her see she is normal, to her she feels she's not because of her food allergies and her sensory issues, yet she handles these issues like an adult. I'm so proud of her. wub.gif

Her allergies just cause her a lot of pain. I, honestly, don't know how much real pain it causes her, but just the amount of time she has complained of her tummy hurting and feeling like she's going to puke, I imagine she feels pretty bad. Ugh.
