I have been very up and down lately - and really anxious and edgy - thought alot of it was adjusting to two kids - back to work, etc. etc. but it seems to be getting worse not better - I feel exhausted all the time - and I do get sleep - Dylan is a very good baby, DD is a wonderful little girl and DH well, I think my issues with him are really more my issues than him...

So is 4 1/2 months AFTER having the baby too late for it to be PPD??

I feel the same way. I have been fine for 5 months, and now all of a sudden I feel a lot of anxiety.

Usually I have a trigger that sets me off, like a stomach ache, then I start to feel all anxious that I have a stomach virus and the kids are going to get it, and then I start to think if the tme when Jason was 1 1/2 and he was hospitalized for the Rotavirus, and next thing I know I am having an anxiety attack

I called my mom on vacation---- she is a psychotherapist-- and she suggested that I call my OB. I called this morning but they can't see me until tomorrow.

I'll keep you posted

anyway, to anwer your question--yes, it can set in a few months later

I had mild PPD after Macie but didn't even know it until about 6 months...I kept thinking, like you, that I was just having trouble adjusting. It didn't even dawn on me that it could be PPD but it was. I hope you're able to see the doc soon hug.gif hug.gif

Did you end up taking something for it? If so, what? Did it help? I am super sensitive to anti-depressants and am worried about trying it again....but something has to give to help even me out - I feel like a complete lunatic 99% of the time and the other 1% is when I sleep..... sad.gif

I was on a low dose of Zoloft, I guess I got lucky because the first thing he prescribed worked without any funny side affects. And it actually did help, tremendously. I know it's frustrating to have to experiment with meds/dosages but I think the relief you get is absolutely worth it. hug.gif

I had anxiety / PPD after having my last child and I am getting ready to talk to my doctor now (before the baby is born) so I can go ahead and start getting back on Lexapro. That is just a horrible feeling to have. Hope you get to feeling better! hug.gif

I talked to my OB, he feels it is probably more anxiety than say PPD, I am not depressed, just very anxious and nervous and always feel like I am running a marathon even when I don't have to be....so he prescribed Wellbutrin XL, it is pretty mild - WON"T make me gain weight - if anything most people actually lose weight on it thumb.gif and he said to stick it out, if I do have side effects they usually don't last....

So we shall see - hopefully it will make me feel more even keel - I sure hope so cause I make myself tired.... emlaugh.gif
