Do you ever feel like one of your ribs is out of place and it sorta pops when you workout? I don't know how to really describe it, but I was at the gym last night doing a conditioning class and everytime I moved on my left side, I felt a little click in my ribs. Is it possible they just pop out of place, sorta like cracking your knuckles? I felt it again today while I was driving. Strange. huh.gif

What do I do about it?

I have no idea what you do about it! But it has happened to me often. I never thought to ask about it. I just push it back (if that makes sense) I am interested in reading other replys.

Yes... There's cartilage connecting the ribs to the sternum and the spine. This cartilage is what's popping when you exercise. As long as you have no pain, it's not considered an issue. Often more back stretching can minimize the popping.

Thanks Ed! I will try more stretching.

Ed, you are a veritable fountain of knowledge. Hope things smooth out for you, Rae. I bet that was a bit disconcerting.

Yeah, I don't feel it today, so that's good! I've been strength training / lifting weights a lot lately, and I think my body is telling me to slow down some. Or to stretch more like Ed suggested. I wonder if more water would help maybe lube my bones up more? Hmmmm. laugh.gif

Couldn't hurt. LOL.

Heheh... I don't know about lubing bones, but if that works out let me know, because I could so use some lube in these old, creaky bones. Now that you mention it, my own ribs made more noise when I was doing serious strength training. Good luck. My ortho said you almost can't stretch too much. That's what the yoga practitioners say too.
