sleep.gif I just bought a box of diet pills. I desperately need to loose weight! There called Meta Slim, I've been watching commercials on TV. Do they really work? I'm trying to change my eating habits, slowly eliminating chocolate from my diet, trying to eat 3 meals a day and eating a lot healthier snacks. I hate my body, I hate the way I look! I've had 3 people ask me if I was pregnant, it's embarrassing! I just want to curl up in a ball and cry! bawling.gif

hug.gif I have not tried them, nor have I heard of them. I honestly don't believe any diet pill works or is safe. Have you tried talking to your doctor about this? I know a long time ago my doc was going to prescribe me one that would help, but not do it all by itself, kwim?

I wish I had some miracle advice to help you feel better, hun. We've all been there/are there and it stinks! It sucks we have to spend so much time trying to lose weight or maintain just so we feel some good about us. hug.gif hug.gif

I know with everything that is going on it's probably hard to get exercise in. Have you tried journaling what you eat to see what you can decrease? I've been drinking Slim Fast for one of my meals (and a small snack with it) lately and surprisingly enough the slim fast is actually curbing my appetite. I had tried it a long time ago and it didn't do anything for me, but this time around I drink it and feel full. Maybe something like that will help?

hug.gif Kirsten, I have heard of Meta Slim but I don't do the pill regime when it comes to weight loss. The closest thing I ever came to pills is Slim Fast Shakes oh, about 15 years ago. hug.gif Karen has given you some good advice, I would try talking to a doctor first before taking them just to make sure they won't interact with anything you are taking. hug.gif

Thanks for the advice! I just can't believe how much weight I have gained! I would talk to my doctor, but I'm here in Toronto and he is in Thunder Bay and unfortunately the answering service won't accept messages like this. I'm just so depressed! sad.gif

Kirsten your under a ton of stress so don't be to hard on your-self right now. I would honestly hold off on the pilss until you get back home and speak to your docotor on this. It may do more harm in the end then good. Hang in hun, it's a difficult time. Wish I had some words of wisdom that would help, but all I can offer is some hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

hug.gif I have tried diet pills in the past, but they made me anxious and dizzy and made my heart beat too fast. I know how you feel though ~ I have a really hard time losing weight the good old fashioned way. I know how discouraging that is. hug.gif
I agree with Karen and Terri though ~ don't take them until you've had a chance to talk to your doctor and make sure they are ok to mix with other meds you're taking! You never know how they might react to each other. wink.gif hug.gif

Ditto. And they did curb my appetite but only as long as I took them which wasn't long because of the other things they made me feel.

I haven't tried the diet pills, but I can understand how you feel. I haven't been able to lose any weight and I gained back the weight I lost when I was working out. We've been so busy and on the run, I haven't had time to go to the gym.

I agree with the others, hold off on taking them. I am not sure if you are still taking any other meds, and if so, I would definately wait until you talk to your doctor.

Hang in there. hug.gif
