Parenting Club Forums > General Adult Health > "thing" on face

Posted by: grapfruit Jun 18 2008, 10:42 AM
Ok, so I have this "thing" on my face. I guess it's a blood blister or something. Maybe a cyst? I have no clue. It's been there for awhile. Like at least a year I'd say. It doesn't really hurt. Only when my sunglasses rest on it (ouch!).

But today I was drying off in the shower (b/c I'm anal and hate a wet bathroom floor rolleyes.gif ) and a HUGE drop of blood splattered on my boob. It was like 4 inches long. I touched my nose (thinking maybe a nose bleed) which would REALLY freak me out b/c I've NEVER had a nose bleed. But nothing. So I open the door more and look in the mirror and my face (the Thing) is bleeding. The drip was almost to my chin.

So I use the towel in my hands to wipe up the blood. It probably took a good 2 min for it to stop bleeding. My towel ended up being pretty bloody.

So I figured I'd better make an appointment. wink.gif I was trying to wait until I knew if I was getting the new job or not. B/c I'd have insurance right away. But I figure, why wait. It'll probably only cost a couple 100 and they'll let me make payments. wink.gif I wanted if off before the wedding anyway.....

here's a picture:

It's a good idea to get it checked out. When's your appointment?

P.S. Love the engagement ring... very pretty! thumb.gif

Did you ever post an update on this?? Sorry if I missed it. How did the appointment go?

From the pic, it looks like a pimple. The heat from the shower must have soften it up and caused it to burst. Did anything else come out other than blood?

How did the appointment go?? KUP

Sorry I feel like I'm NEVER on the computer anymore tongue.gif I used to get on during working hours, but I can't do that now. smile.gif Oh well.

Well. I forget what he said he thought it was, b/c it was a really long name...but he "froze" it.

It looks better, but it didn't go away, it's now much lighter and smaller. It's not a pimple for sure, it's also not a blood blister. I wish I could remember what he called it. I was suppose to go back "in 3 weeks" but since I don't have insurance I didn't blush.gif

BUT my insurance kicks in 9/6! (fast right?) so I'm going to probably go back. happy.gif I'm ALSO going to try and make a long put off appt w/my OBGYN....

I'm glad you got it taken care of I have been wondering about that!!! I miss seeing you around!! hug.gif Make sure when you go to your obgyn to tell him that you are going to be TTC soon because he will probably want you to go ahead and start some sort of vit. (probably prenatal or some sort of womans vit)

That's why I wanted to see him, I have already been taking Flintstone vits. He asks me every time anyway. smile.gif Last time I saw him he was like, "Come on, you've been w/him for how long?? When are we having babies??" laugh.gif

I miss you guys too. sleep.gif I think about everyone all the time. I try and stop in and read a little, just to stay a little updated!! happy.gif
