So my FB status tonight is:

Marie has a smile on her face and a spring to her step, 1 month - a day, and things are finally back to normal (this had to do with the fact that I actually enjoyed DTD tonight with hubby, really enjoyed it).

So I get a message from a friend and it goes like this....

Her: Are you pregnant?

Me: Oh gosh no, I wish. It's actually the opposite. I'm one month post d/c for our third consecutive miscarriage.

Her: oh, I'm so sorry Marie.
What's going on? Is it the Russian water?...lol.
Know it's not funny, you're way stronger than I would be. keep your chin up sweetie!

Did I miss the funny part in my message!!!!! How would you reply to this?

Don't even reply, I eman if she was trying to be funny it wasn't and clearly she has never been through a m/c or anything near what you have as of late.

hug.gif hug.gif I know that is hurtful it would definitely upset me too but maybe she was just trying to cheer you up or she didn't know how to respond and maybe now she regrets what she said hug.gif hug.gif You don't have to respond at all but if you want to maybe just say no its not funny, its hurts but I'm doing ok now hug.gif hug.gif

I'm sure it was probably just a horribly failed case of "I don't really know the right thing to say" and so I'll just try to laugh it off... but that's not the right thing to do either.

It's never easy knowing what to say when someone you know or love is going through something painful, horrible or sad... sometimes it's best just to not say anything at all.

I do think her intentions were good though and I agree with that last part -- you are stronger that I probably ever could be. I can hardly look at a newborn without crying right now just from being told that I'll likely never be able to have children.

Do hang in there and I'll be praying for you and praying that this next time will be THE time!
