Hi! wavey.gif

I haven't been on here in a while. My husbnad and I are finally ready to have another baby! I am really exciteded because we never tried.... with our daughter it just happpened. Anyways does anyone have any advice?

I have been tracking my periods.... last one was on July 3.

Also on a different subject does anyone have children 5-6 years apart and how does that work out. My daughter is 5, getting ready to start Kindergarten.

Thanks Again! biggrin.gif

Congrats on the new adventure!! I hope it goes smoothly for you!
Only advice I have is to try to DTD around 2 weeks before you're due to start -- that's when you ovulate. If you have a 4-week cycle then that would be 2 weeks after the first day of your last period. If you have a 5-wk cycle like me then it will be 3 weeks after the first day of your last period.
When you start your period late it's because you ovulated late... you always have your period 2 weeks (give or take a day) after you ovulate. Also, a lot of women notice a change in cervical mucus when they ovulate, too. It will be like egg whites for a day or 2 (or 3).
Anyway, just DTD around those days and try not to worry about it -- it will happen when it's meant to be. smile.gif

As for the age difference, my boys are almost exactly 6 years apart, and I LOVE it like this!! Will can help out when he wants (I don't MAKE him as I don't want him to be resentful) and he's old enough to know how to play with him for the most part without getting too rough. And Waylon thinks Will is just the best big "bubba" ever! wub.gif

The only hard part about it is keeping Waylon away from toys he's not big enough to safely play with yet, but that's where baby gates have proven helpful, esp since they share a room. laugh.gif

DH has mentioned a few times recently that he's sad at the thought that this may the last time we have a baby around, but I am so not wanting a baby while Waylon is still so young. It's just so much easier like this, in my opinion. Of course I don't want to wait until I'm 38 to have another one, either, so if we decide to try for another I guess the 3rd will be closer in age to Waylon than Waylon is to Will.

Anyway, hope this helps some! And here's lots of ~~~baby~~~ vibes for you!! baby.gif

Thank you for the reply!

I probably ovulate at the end of this week.... but we have already begun trying.

I am glad the age difference works great for you.... I was thinking it would be nice because my dd is so gentle with babies now and really wants a baby brother (although I keep telling her she can not pick boy or girl)!

Thanks for the baby vibes.... hopefully good new will come soon smile.gif

Oh yeah, try all you want -- practice makes perfect! LOL
I would just give a day or 2 between 'tries' to help the sperm count build up a little.

Glad I could be of some help!

I charted with all three of my kids, and had great luck with that. it took literally one try for ben and Charlie, and Al took 2 months. laugh.gif
just DTD the day you ovulate for a boy, or a few days earlier for a girl. thumb.gif

Really??

I was thinking we would DTD everyday until Monday or Tuesday and on ovulation days 2 times. Do you think I need to space it out??

does it help to wait in between DTD to build up sperm count again?

Thanks!!!

If your dh has no sperm issues, waiting a day or two between ovulation won't make a difference.

I also highly recommend charting ( I used fertilityfriend.com, you can get a 30 day free VIP trial I believe it is, and than continue with regular membership). You don't always ovulate exactly 2 weeks after your cycle begins so it's nice to see the pattern and be able to pinpoint when your day is coming.

Best of luck.

I used "mymonthlycycles.com" it was free. Little bunnies on the days you should DTD. We got pregnant right away (we were lucky I suppose). Baby number 2 snuck up on us. I warned DH but he didn't listen rolleyes.gif Its really hard to chart when you don't have a period.
