Kaleigh is a little behind too but we all expected it since she is nearly a year younger than most of her class (born Dec 27). the best resources i've gotten are directly from the teacher because she is working on the right material at the right time. i am sure if you ask, they will photocopy a bunch of pages for you or suggest books to use with her. try not to be too upset, she is younger and can catch up. |

Brooke has a bit of difficulty with fine motor skills as well and the activities her teacher recommends are playing with playdough, legos, or small stacking blocks. She also said practicing 'fun' writing, like making cards for people or writing letters to grandma is good. |

Ashley's preschool teacher told me that the same muscles that are used to write are also used to cut...which is why they cut so much in preschool to help develope the small motor skills. Also, what about those lacing cards, I think they are supposed to help with fine motor skills too. |

Don't be hard on yourself...ALOT of kids in kindy have fine motor skill problems. Mckaylee had tons of them and her teacher told me to keep practicing with her and not to worry because most of kindy kids fine motor skills kick into gear around February of their kindy year...She said that usually a light just clicks on and they do better around that time and for us it was true. |
