Peyton hasn't been eating well at all for the last couple weeks. I just assumed that he was getting more teeth and didn't have much of an appetite. But it started to worry me that he isn't getting all the vitamins, nutrients, etc.. he needs because he literally hardly eats anything. He usually eats a pretty good breakfast and then sometimes that's it. For example he'll eat a bowl of oatmeal and then wont want much of anything else the rest of the day. Except maybe a couple bites here and there. I also recently noticed that his tonsils are HUGE. When he opens his mouth they almost touch. SO do you all think that could be why he hasn't been eating? The more I think about it--he mostly eats stuff that goes down easily, like applesauce, oatmeal, bananas, etc. I'm bringing him to the doctors today at 1:30 to see what she thinks. I've never had my tonsils removed, so I have no idea, is he too young for that? I'm thinking it may help him want to eat better if he doesn't have huge tonsils in the way.

Well, it turns out that he has a slight ear infection in both ears. She said it's nothing too bad, but they are a little pink so she gave him an antibiotic to clear it up before they get worse. As for his tonsils--she suggested we go to an ENT and let them take a look. He has an appointment Jan 30th. She said that they don't really remove tonsils as often as they used to unless really necessary. So we'll see.... I'm just concerned with him not eating well, but maybe his ears have just been bothering him. I never thought that would be the case--he acts fine. dunno.gif

I had massive tonsils, I got them removed. But they never stopped me from eating certain things. They were big, I remember as a kid if I was at the doctors with a sore throat they would always comment on my huge tonsils.

But I had tonsilitis alot, hence why I got them taken out. The annoying thing is that some of the worst sore throats I've ever had have been after I had them out. It's worse because when you go to a doctor in agony because your throat burns, they often times take one look, say "You don't have any tonsils" and tell you to rest. Which is annoying because 90% of the time, if I get a sore throat, I will get a chest infection too, so I usually end up going back to the doctors.

I hope things work out smile.gif They might take them out if they're too big. I knew someone whose baby had their tonsils out because they were enourmous.
