Ever since Breanna was 2 months ol she slept through the night. She would go down at 8pm and sleep till 7am. But recently for the past 3 days ( she will be 4 months on the 19th) she wakes int he night hungry. She would down 8 oz and then go back to sleep. Could it be a growth spurt or do you think she is ready for pablum?

I have never thought that cereal helps them sleep better..........I know many would argue that with me, just my opinion.
Did she normally have a bottle in the night? Or did that just start?

I would say growth spurt. Adding cereal to our bottles only led to lots more issues. If I could go back and do it again I wouldn't have done it.

she did wake up every 5 hours from birth till 2 months for feedings at night. but then from 2 months till now she has been sleeping through teh night for 10-12 hours. Now she wakes up hungry around 300am every morning for milk

I'd say it's a growth spurt. I'm personally against the whole cereal thing, especially at that age, but everyone must do what is right for them. So your choice. thumb.gif

Out of curiosity, what kind of problems? We're a few months off from that, I'm just wondering.

It can be unsafe to add the cereal to the bottles for fear of chockinga nd such and if given to early it can cause or some people says allergies etc etc etc. Some do it as early as a few weeks and such and have no problems. I guess it just depends on the person and thier beliefs.

i agree with growth spurt and to hold off on cereal for a while. intro to cereal at that age can lead to severe gas, tummy aches, etc. and you get less sleep because of it. it won't last forever. hug.gif
