Kirsten, Spencer's Mom has been a member of Parenting Club for years, and we've all come to know and love Spencer over the years. As many of you are already aware, Spencer was diagnosed with cancer last year. Now his cancer is back and he is in the hospital again.
Many of you have stated that you want a way to help Spencer, so we've put together a fundraiser for Spencer in the form of a book sale through Usborne Books. The program is simple. Just click on the link below to enter the eShow, and order books that are of interest to you. Any proceeds from the purchases you make will benefit Spencer and his family. All of the proceeds will benefit Spencer and his family. Fifty (50%) of the proceeds will go to Spencer in the form of cash, and Fifty (50%) of the proceeds will go to the family in the form of free books. What better way to lift Spencer's spirits than with new, fun and exciting books. And, at the same time get a little early Christmas or birthday shopping done. I first learned of Usborne Books when Ashley's preschool did the book sale. The books are awesome! They are educational, beautifully illustrated, and are very durable and high quality. The age range of the books is babies/toddlers through school age, but if anyone wants a suggestion for the preschool age, I can let you know what Ashley has really enjoyed. CLICK HERE TO ENTER BOOK STORE IMPORTANT NOTICE: You must use the link above in order for the funds to benefit Spencer. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. -------------------- |

great idea! I'd like to forward the link to some family and friends who have kids. if I copy the link and paste it into an email, will it still benefit Spencer? Or would I need to point them to PC, have them find the topic then click the link?

Thanks! What great idea.
FYI~if I suddenly become MIA from PC it's because my husband removed the computer from my house and turned off the internet I just spent as much at Usborne as I did at Land's End school shopping today. ALL for a great cause, though!! -------------------- Cheryl, Olivia's mom

I forwarded it to everyone I know who has kids or knows people who have kids. I also instructed them to feel free to forward the link to anyone else they may know. And for those who were planning on buying K birthday gifts, I told them to get her books from the link.

Dee Dee or Kristin...or anyone who has some spare time.
Can you possibly post a summary of Spencers story? I've tried to summarize it from memory but things like Spencers age, the exact problem he is suffering from etc are escaping me. I'm trying to get permission to post the link on my mothers and more email loop but I need to have the full story straight before I can do that. If someone decided to investigate and I had some detail wrong it could be a big problem. Thanks Cary -------------------- Cary

If you want exact facts and dates, you may have to consult with Kirsten. I can look back at old posts as to when she first informed us, but I'm not really good with dates and medical terminology off the top of my head. I just know that Spencer has touched so many of us, and he's been a real trooper through all this. I'll do a little digging and get back to you... unless Kirsten or someone else wants to jump in here. -------------------- |
