Server Move

Administrator Group: Administrators Posts: 2,101 Member No.: 1 Joined: 4-February 03	Hello All Within the next couple of days, we will be moving websites to a new faster server which includes Parenting Club. The server Parenting Club is currently on has been great and performed well but it is now showing its age. Once the move is complete, there should be a noticable improvement on how the website and message boards perform, especially at peak times. During the move there should be no down time but it may loose sync...which we will try to avoid as much as possible. This means, there is a slight chance that a new post may not transfer. This is nothing to be concerned about but I just wanted to let you know of this possibility so in case one of your posts just disappears, I did not want you thinking we had deleted it. I will update this thread once the move is fully completed. Thank You!

We did have a short ip address routing hicup so again, if a post seems to be deleted the chances are it just did not get transfered. You might want to repost. Also let me know if this has occured. It should definitely not be doing that anymore. Let me know if it stills brings that another website up. If it does, it might be a cache thing and rebooting your computer should correct that.

I know some posts did not transfer and in fact there were 2 new user records that did not make it either.

sorry about that... did not expect the issues that came up.

By the way how you all like the increase in performance. Hard to tell when the site also display graphics. banners and such from other sites -- i.e. if those other sites are laggy we feel the effects here too. But you should be seeing a nice performace boost when doing todays topics, searching and any other cpu intensive tasks. I like looking at the bottom of the pages where it says "Script Execution time:"... that has been pretty small since the move
